What if I already have an opted in list of cell numbers?
Opted in cell numbers can be added to existing lists or to a new list by upload from a CSV file or by copying and pasting. The stop function works as normal.
We have an existing list of numbers but we don't know which ones are cell numbers and which are landlines.
A reverse look up can be performed to determine which are cell numbers, contact us to discuss details.
Why use text messaging?
Text messaging is now widely used and accepted as a convenient, reliable and inexpensive means of communicating. Text messages can be saved and shown for redemption of offers or referred back to for dates and information. They can be forwarded to friends so are a great viral marketing tool. They are rarely ignored unlike email.
What is a keyword?
A keyword is required to enable people to opt in to receive messages. By sending a text message which starts with the keyword, the sending number is added to the list associated with the keyword. Each list has a unique keyword.
Why are keywords used?
By using keywords, people can opt in to specific lists to receive messages that they really want. This means that messages can be highly targeted to lists to achieve the highest response rates.
How do I choose a keyword?
Choose a keyword that best describes the purpose of the list; is easy to text and is reasonably short. Keywords must be unique; are not case sensitive and can include special characters (?@#& etc). It is the keyword that you will advertise so make it memorable and relevant.
How do I set up a keyword?
Log in to your promptxt4clubs account and click on Lists > New list. Type your keyword in the keyword field and name your list for easy identification, click Save and it is set up.
I have set up my keyword, now what do I do?
Advertise it! Incorporate it into existing ads. and notice boards, make it easily seen by as many people as possible. The wording, for example, could be: "Text Olympic your name to 43704 to receive news and offers" added at the bottom of posters and signs.
Can I have more than 1 keyword?
Yes. You can have as many keywords as you wish.
Which cell networks are covered?
All major US networks are covered.
How do I personalize messages?
Insert the merge field into your message like this: [NAME]. The names are then automatically inserted. If no name exists in the list then a blank is left. By including a greeting in the merge field; [Hi NAME] then the greeting is also omitted if no name is recorded.
Can I set the from name to my company name?
The from number is fixed to 43704. This is a requirement imposed by the cell networks.
How long can I make the messages?
Messages are a maximum of 160 characters, including spaces. We provide a character counter to keep track on message length as it is typed. If over 160 characters are used the message is split and sent as multiple messages.
Can I set up a message to be sent at a later time?
Yes. Messages can be scheduled by time and date. This makes administration easier and messages can be timed optimized for maximum impact.
What is the maximum number of cell numbers in a list?
There is no maximum. Lists can be one number or thousands.
How do I see how many people are in a list?
Click on Lists>Edit
What is a message template?
Promptxt4clubs offers the option to save messages that may be used frequently in order to avoid having to retype the message.
How do I sign up?
Click on Register and fill in the registration form. If you already have an opt in list, it can be uploaded and messages sent within minutes.
How many credits do I need?
We have highly flexible pricing, either pay as you go or convenient plans, select whichever suits your needs best.
What happens when someone texts my keyword to 43704?
They will receive the message: Reply Y to confirm you wish to receive offers and information from BREW. Std rates apply. Send STOP 2 opt out. This process is called Double Opt In and is the process that has to be approved by the cell phone networks in order to be able to send messages, it is designed to avoid and prevent spam
What happens if someone replies to a message?
Their reply will be delivered to the inbox. There is a message counter to alert of there being a new unread message.
